Introducing Dorsum Co., Ltd.

Dorsum Co., Ltd. was founded by private Hungarian individuals in 1996 and the company has remained a fully Hungarian-owned enterprise ever since. The shareholders of the company are dedicated to maintaining a smooth, solid and sustainable cooperation and, in order to facilitate the success of the company's activities, they provide valuable contributions utilizing their outstanding experience and market intelligence in the Hungarian IT sector. The company was duly incorporated in 2001 and became a closed company in 2006.

We implemented the Clavis Securities Trading and Settlement System on the premises of our first client in 1997.  To date, we have completed almost eighty additional Clavis System implementations.
The core business activities of the company are software development and the associated expert support services.
Dorsum Co. Ltd. provides services for its extensive client base with Clavis, its own developed application. The determining factors in the operation of the company have always been innovation, the constant adaptation and monitoring of the ever advancing IT field and the needs of players in the money and capital markets.  The accumulated professional expertise makes it possible to utilize these results in the continuous further developmental process of our product.
In order to ensure a more and more efficient and extensive support of our clients' activities and business procedures, we continuously carry out the development, which is realized through the implementation of the system and its modules, and through their constant support.  The services that belong here are product and regulatory environmental monitoring and instances of individual development efforts.  The other determining factor of development is the company’s experts who follow IT trends and progress, the needs and expectations of the securities and financial markets and the company’s consultants whose ideas and suggestions expand the lifecycle of the software and stretch the utilization opportunities of our application.

With the help of an outside consultant company, we established the Applied Project Management Methodology in 2000. Both Dorsum and its partners defined the conventions related to project planning, implementation, closing and documentation. Each project is directed by the project leader with the support of an assigned sponsor and is carried out by a team of senior and junior experts, senior and junior developers and a project coordinator.

We strictly regulate our Company’s workflow and from 2002, we have worked according to ISO 9001:2000 standards. Since then, our Quality Management System has been successfully examined and audited annually by an outside firm and this is why, in January of 2004, we also acquired the “Suitable Supplier For NATO” qualification.

Dorsum In The International Market

In order to retain our market-leader position and the competitive power of Clavis in 2000, the management made a strategic decision about the new software version’s conformity to international standards and the expectations of the European market.

The strategy of international expansion was created in 2002, upon completion of their new international product. Dorsum’s leaders are determined to become the leading company in all of Eastern Europe in the field of Information Technology and finance.

Dorsum Bulgaria Ltd. – The first subsidiary of Dorsum Ltd., Hungary abroad, was registered on the last working day of 2004 by the Sofia City Court.
Dorsum Bulgaria Ltd. is a Bulgarian-Hungarian joint venture established by Dorsum Ltd. Hungary and Kontrax Ltd. – one of the leading participants of the Bulgarian information technology market. The strategic purpose of the establishment was to carry out all the activities of implementation, support and upgrade of Clavis products in Bulgaria. Dorsum, due to the successful implementations, has become a well known and recognised company in the Bulgarian financial market. Their main goal is to have over 50% of the transactions of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange and over 50% of the managed assets of Bulgarian Funds managed with Clavis by the end of 2007.
Dorsum Software SRL (Dorsum Romania), the subsidiary of Dorsum Ltd., Hungary in Romania, was established in January of 2006. It was in June, 2006, that Dorsum Romania successfully obtained its first Romanian contract with IEBA Trust SA Brokerage Company for the first implementation in Romania.  Presently, the final negotiations are under way with the Romanian Erste Bank, inter alia.

Our larger clients actively number from 10,000 to 30,000, and the average daily transaction number is approximately 1,000 to 10,000.  Currently the largest database handled by Clavis is 300GB.
Altogether, 700 branches and 1,800 users work with Clavis‘s own progressive applications in Hungary.
Our clients currently use the following interfaces: MMTS(K2), XETRA, KONDOR, KID,SWIFT, SAP, KAPITI and other specific business systems such as  Front-Office, Risk Management, Business Administration Systems, MIS, etc.
Dorsum favors Microsoft SQL and Oracle database management systems.
